The business was founded in 2021 by Emma Morris and Monique Peters after they experienced their own induction into motherhood and navigated Matrescence - the process of becoming a mother. They quickly learned the physical, psychological and emotional changes mothers go through after the birth of their child were not spoken about or acknowledged enough in Australian culture, which resulted in mothers feeling unsupported, overwhelmed and misunderstood.
So, they set out to change the way mothers are supported in the preconception, pregnancy and postpartum season of their lives - and Maia Mothers Collective was born.
Now, the business supports mothers at every stage and via a range of service offerings including nutrition, paediatric nutrition, naturopathy, acupuncture + Chinese medicine, massage, lactation services, psychology as well as Mother’s Group and Birth Preparation Classes.
Emma, now sole owner and Director of the business, strongly believes education and connection is key in empowering mothers through this season of their lives. It is Emma’s vision to change the way women experience pregnancy and early motherhood because when a mother is well - so too is her family, and this turns into a ripple effect in the community and beyond.
